“Inner Fire” is a “chamber” film about four perplexed men with lots of dark jokes, absurd monologues and funny situations. At the beginning, it pretends to be an entertaining film and the spectators do not notice how this amusement ride takes them to drama and then to tragedy.
Four strangers meet in the living room of a Saint-Petersburg apartment belonging to the drug dealer Gaga. The apartment proprietor is being late, so the four men start a conversation in order to keep themselves busy. One of them has come to ask Gaga for money, the second one has come to ask for arms, the third one is going to blackmail Gaga and the fourth man is eager to kill the third one. One thing leads to another, and the innocent conversation of the four men waiting for Gaga turns into a series of acts of bullying and humiliation for the most defenseless of them. Then the four men get into a dangerous altercation leading to bloodshed and to mysterious meetings with the inevitable…
